Multiplying Four Digit Numbers Less Than Working Base

Multiplying Four Digit Numbers Less Than The Working Base Using Nikhilum Sutra: In this method we take a common base such that both the numbers are less than the base. Such type of Techniques of Vedic Maths help us to perform calculations in a much faster way.  Mastering such type of techniques is very essential in Competitive Exams where time is very precious

For example let us take 9979 and 9997.

Step 1: As both the numbers are less than 10000, so we will take the base as 10000.

let the base be 10000

9979       -21

9997       -3

Step 2: Now, multiply -21 with -3, we get 63.

Step 3: Now, add diagonally 9979 with -3 or 9997 with -21, We will get 9976

Step 4: Multiplying 9976 with the base 10000 and add 63.

Thus, answer is 99760088
